Vision for District 1

My Vision for Mariposa County

I'm running for Mariposa County Supervisor because I believe our county government should reflect the values of the people it serves—honesty, accountability, fiscal responsibility, and common sense.

Mariposa County is a remarkable place to live. We enjoy a rural lifestyle, strong communities, and neighbors who still help one another. My goal is not to change what makes our county special, but to preserve those qualities while addressing the challenges that affect our future.

As your Supervisor, I will work to strengthen our economy, improve public safety, maintain our infrastructure, and ensure that county government remains transparent, responsive, and accountable to the people.

Supporting a Strong Local Economy

A healthy local economy benefits everyone. Thriving businesses create jobs, generate tax revenue, and provide opportunities for families to build their future here at home.

Many local businesses face unnecessary challenges, including lengthy permitting processes, regulatory complexity, and limited support.

As your Supervisor, I will work to:

  • Encourage a business-friendly environment while protecting our rural character.

  • Support efforts to streamline permitting and reduce unnecessary delays.

  • Work with county departments to improve customer service for residents and businesses.

  • Encourage responsible economic development that creates jobs while preserving the qualities that make Mariposa County unique.

  • Seek opportunities to attract new investment that benefits our community without sacrificing our local values.

Economic growth and environmental stewardship are not mutually exclusive. With thoughtful planning, we can support both.

Investing in Infrastructure

Reliable infrastructure is essential to public safety, economic development, and quality of life.

Many of our county roads, bridges, public facilities, and other infrastructure have aged significantly and require continued investment. Deferred maintenance only increases future costs.

As your Supervisor, I will support:

  • Prioritizing road and bridge maintenance.

  • Responsible long-term capital planning.

  • Seeking state and federal grant funding whenever possible.

  • Investing taxpayer dollars wisely to protect existing infrastructure before small problems become major expenses.

  • Improving emergency access routes that benefit both residents and first responders.

Good infrastructure is an investment in our county's future.

A Government That Listens

County government works best when citizens are informed and involved.

Too often, residents feel disconnected from the decisions that affect their lives. I believe every citizen deserves the opportunity to be heard.

As your Supervisor, I will:

  • Maintain an open-door policy.

  • Be accessible by phone, email, and community meetings.

  • Hold regular public forums to listen to residents' concerns and ideas.

  • Encourage citizen participation on advisory committees and local boards.

  • Support programs such as SCOPE and other opportunities that encourage civic involvement.

Listening is one of the most important responsibilities of public service.

Transparency and Accountability

Public office is a public trust.

Every tax dollar belongs to the people, and every county decision should be made openly and responsibly.

I will work to:

  • Promote transparency in county budgeting.

  • Ask the difficult questions before taxpayer dollars are spent.

  • Keep residents informed about important county projects and decisions.

  • Encourage open communication between county government and the public.

  • Support responsible financial planning that protects essential county services while respecting taxpayers.

Government should earn the public's trust through openness, accountability, and responsible stewardship.

Why I'm Running

I am not seeking public office for personal recognition or political ambition.

I am running because I care deeply about Mariposa County and believe my lifetime of service has prepared me to give back in a new way.

Throughout my career—as a firefighter, business owner, youth counselor, educator, church leader, Grand Juror, and volunteer—I have always believed that leadership means serving others.

That same philosophy will guide every decision I make as your County Supervisor.

Together We Can Build a Stronger Future

Mariposa County has tremendous opportunities ahead.

By working together, we can:

  • Strengthen public safety.

  • Improve our infrastructure.

  • Support local businesses.

  • Protect our rural way of life.

  • Be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.

  • Build a county government that listens, responds, and serves its citizens.

These goals are not about politics—they are about working together to leave Mariposa County stronger for our children and grandchildren.

I would be honored to earn your trust and your vote.
